Artist Statement

The Art Margaux story begins in Poland.

Upon leaving Europe at the tender age of five, she spent the next eight years roaming the tropical jungles & beaches of Puerto Rico. These unique experiences acquired in her formative years have been the greatest influence on her creative output. Travel and exploration have also been instrumental to Maggie's growth as an artist, opening her eyes to color & light, to beauty, antiquity & modernity, all of which hold a dear place in every work of art she creates.

"To have inspiration and unique ideas is only one piece of the puzzle. The rest lies in harnessing these vivid dreams and brushing them into reality."

"In nature we discover specimens of both the beautiful and of the grotesque. We are both fascinated and disturbed, seeing ourselves in these objects; our wants and desires, our achievements and short comings."

"What is breathtaking and rewarding inevitably becomes bittersweet, even brutal at times. We are forever seeking, forever dreaming of what could have been and what will be. This is the reality of our ever changing lives, for we are never satisfied and unable to rest. That is the essence of my body of work.

"It is a creative documentation of my search, beginning from dark and deep within and expanding outward into the ever pulsating world around me."
