Biography

Born in Poland, Beata Drozd received a BFA in Painting from Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, London and Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs, Paris. Beata is a truly international Artist. Her work has been exhibited extensively throughout Europe, including solo and group exhibitions in Poland, London, Paris and New York. She lives and works in New York.

Says the artist, "I recycle Vogue and paste together thousands of pieces of paper onto the canvas. This technique allows me to achieve extraordinary texture and dimensional relief in the painting. And the high quality of the paper [the magazine] uses permanently retains a brilliant spectrum of colors that make it possible to preserve fresh and vibrant results."

This exhibition also includes several pieces from a series Drozd created based on the tradtional folk costumes of Poland's world renowned Mazowsze Dance Ensemble.
